Providing students with coherent vocabulary instruction in words with multiple meanings is one of the most significant ways that teachers can improve students’ reading comprehension. The Multiple Meaning Vocabulary Program is an easy-to-implement solution that provides teachers with a set of words that have relevant and mutually exclusive meanings.
The activities and word lists help students form connections among words, allowing them to see firsthand how context influences word meaning and usage. In turn, this emphasis on multiple meanings increases reading comprehension.
Level 1 focuses on two-meaning words and Level 2 on three- or four-meaning words.
Teacher Sets include the Teacher’s Manual and classroom reproducibles (set of 80).
