Middle school students in Round Rock, Texas experience significant gains after adopting the LANGUAGE! Live program.
Provides age-appropriate strategies that are scaffolded and differentiated for the emergent reader. It provides foundational strategies—like naming and writing the alphabet—to more advanced skills, such as writing research reports.
Three to four years later, students’ writing skills were assessed, and the mean scores on state standardized tests continued to improve. Teachers indicate writing workshops are valuable and writing strategies are easy to incorporate.
Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling provides extensive professional development in the curriculum outlined by the AFT and embodied in other consensus papers on reading research and teacher education.
The study examined changes in teacher knowledge of early literacy skills and in ratings of quality of early literacy skills instruction, student engagement during early literacy skills instruction, and teaching competencies in Mississippi between Winter 2014 and Fall 2015.
This report elaborates on how Velocity works. Since Velocity is so different, we start with a machine learning primer and a brief review of the Enlearn Learning Platform that powers the machine learning in Velocity. Next, the ELA content will be discussed since it was developed to support Velocity, not repurposed from a previous program.
For the 2015-2016 school year, students were measured on a new, more rigorous Lexile measure, the Progress Assessment of Reading (PAR). LANGUAGE! Live has strong growth expectations for students where we target extensive gains in comprehension, fluency, and spelling.
Before An Achievable Dream’s middle schools began implementing LANGUAGE! Live program three years ago, significant deficiencies in school readiness or language arts skills were common, particularly among younger students.
This report will use the Standards of Learning (SOL) test scores to determine progress made by students receiving LANGUAGE! Live instruction from the 2014 administration of the SOL to the 2016 administration.
